Downtown is still open. It just takes a few extra steps.

Downtown Nampa is in the middle of a big road project on 11th Ave S, and yes, it’s making things a little less convenient around Library Square.

But here’s the part we don’t want anyone to miss:

Downtown businesses are still open.

You may not be able to park right in front of the place you’re headed. You may need to park a block or two away. You may need to give yourself a few extra minutes and use a different route than usual.

That small bit of extra effort matters.

For a small, independent business owner, a slower week isn’t just a slower week. It can mean payroll gets tighter. Inventory decisions get harder. The stress gets heavier.

These businesses are part of what makes downtown feel alive. They’re the coffee shops, restaurants, salons, boutiques, bakeries, offices, and service providers that make our city feel personal instead of generic.

So here’s the ask:

Keep going downtown.

Park nearby on 3rd Street or 1st Street when 2nd Street feels tight. Walk the extra block. Plan for a few more minutes. Meet a friend for lunch. Grab coffee. Pick up the gift. Buy the donut.

A little inconvenience on our part can help make sure these businesses are still here when the construction is done.

Downtown is worth the walk.
