We support local businesses, create reasons to gather, and work to make sure downtown stays a place with character, momentum, and room for what comes next.
what We Do

We market downtown as a destination through image development, special events, and business promotions. That means creating a consistent brand identity, running advertising campaigns to change consumer perceptions, organizing events that bring new audiences here, and supporting retail promotions that drive immediate business. When people know about downtown, have positive experiences, and feel connected to it, they keep coming back.

We improve the physical environment while preserving downtown's historic character. Better lighting, seating, public art, and cleaner streets. Façade restoration, building rehabilitation, and streetscape improvements. Design guidelines that protect what makes downtown unique while supporting modern use. When the physical space is beautiful, functional, and sustainable, people want to stay, explore, and come back.

We strengthen downtown's economy by helping existing businesses expand and recruiting new ones that fit our market. Market research and business intelligence. Workshops, expert assistance, and connections to funding. Entrepreneur development and strategic recruitment. Solving the real estate problem by making sure buildings generate enough income to support their ongoing care. When businesses thrive, property owners can reinvest, and downtown thrives.

We build the people infrastructure that makes everything else possible. Volunteer committees that develop and implement work plans. Diverse funding streams that provide stability. Partnerships with the City, Nampa Development Corporation, and community stakeholders. Strategic planning, coordination, and advocacy. When the organizational foundation is strong, sustained progress becomes possible.

We're working toward a downtown that's magnetic. A place people visit not because they have to, but because they want to. Where the sidewalks are active, the businesses are thriving, and there's always something happening.
This doesn't happen by accident. It happens because people show up, take risks, and decide this place is worth the effort.
How We Work
The Downtown Nampa Association is a nonprofit run by a volunteer board of local business owners and community members. We work through four committees (Design, Economic Vitality, Organization, and Promotions) and partner with the City of Nampa, Nampa Development Corporation, and businesses throughout downtown.
Our work is funded by property assessments, sponsorships, and community support.
