By 2030, Downtown Nampa will be a magnetic hub where people choose to live, work, shop, and have fun.
Our vibrant district will blend historic charm with modern amenities, offering an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome. The sidewalks will be active, the buildings full, and there will always be something happening—from surprise street performances to family-friendly events, community art, and new businesses opening their doors.
Residents and visitors will come downtown not just for what they can buy, but for how they feel when they're here. The area will be visually beautiful, walkable, and thoughtfully maintained. Storefronts will reflect the character of their owners. Public spaces will invite people to stay.
Behind the scenes, the Downtown Nampa Association will be strong and sustainable—with clear systems, dedicated leadership, and strong partnerships with the City and other stakeholders that make it possible to plan strategically, respond quickly, and keep growing together.
Building on Momentum
Over the past several years, we've been laying the foundation. Volunteers have hung flowers, cleaned streets, and organized events. Business owners have taken risks and opened their doors. The community has shown up and decided this place matters.
Now we have a plan to build on that momentum.
Our Strategic Focus (2025-2030)
Promote Downtown
Market downtown as a destination through consistent branding, regional advertising campaigns, and events that bring people here. Build a recognizable Downtown Nampa identity that makes the district a go-to spot throughout the Treasure Valley.
Shaping the Environment
Create a cohesive, beautiful, walkable downtown through improved lighting, seating, signage, and seasonal decorations. Preserve historic character while supporting building improvements that make spaces functional and attractive.
Business Success
Reduce vacancies and strengthen the business mix by helping existing businesses grow and recruiting new ones that fit the market. Provide business education, design support, and connections to funding. Make sure buildings generate enough income to support their ongoing care.
Ensuring Success
Build the organizational infrastructure that makes everything else possible. Fully fund staff positions, diversify revenue streams, establish clear systems and processes, and create sustainable partnerships that support long-term growth.
