Join the Team and Shape Downtown
Downtown doesn’t get better by accident. It gets better when people show up, bring what they’re good at, and work together on the things that make a district feel alive.
Our Main Street program uses a simple framework called the Four-Point Approach. Each “point” is a committee, and each committee is a different way to make a real, visible impact. Pick the one that fits you best, then send a quick email. We’ll help you find your place.
The Main Street Approach
Main Street works because it improves downtown from multiple angles at the same time, in a way that’s practical, incremental, and community-led.
Organization builds the people and partnerships that keep the work sustainable.
Promotion creates reasons to come downtown and helps tell the story.
Design improves the look, feel, and function of the district.
Economic Vitality strengthens businesses and fills buildings with the right mix.
Organization Committee
Organization is the “make it sustainable” committee. It supports the volunteer structure, partnerships, and resources that keep everything moving.
Good fit if you like: organizing people, building relationships, planning, keeping projects on track.
Promotion Committee
Promotion helps more people notice downtown, show up downtown, and make it a habit. This work includes events, campaigns, storytelling, and partnerships that put energy on the street.
Good fit if you like: marketing, events, storytelling, social media, community connection.
Design Committee
Design focuses on the downtown experience. That can mean everything from public spaces and streetscape ideas to helping downtown look more welcoming, functional, and distinctly Nampa.
Good fit if you like: design, placemaking, public spaces, details, planning, making places feel better.
Economic Vitality Committee
Economic Vitality is where the real-world business and building strategy lives. It helps downtown grow in a way that makes sense: supporting existing businesses, identifying gaps, and helping the district become more economically resilient.
Good fit if you like: small business, data and strategy, problem-solving, entrepreneurship, real estate.
